Bali Balm began its journey in 2016 when our founder jumped on a flight to the beautiful island of Bali and realized he’d forgotten his lip balm. Disaster! By chance, he’d just read an article on the impact wax harvesting has on beehives, and while searching the in-flight magazine, wondered if a beeswax-free alternative was available – it wasn’t. In this instant, the idea for our products was born – lip balms with a friendlier, plant-based alternative to beeswax.
As he explored the island, he was inspired by the raw, natural beauty of Bali and its people. A haven for physical and mental well-being, the essence of this island became the inspiration for our brand, our ‘spiritual home’ and remains to this day (our brand colors are drawn from the deep green of the landscape and fiery orange lava of Mount Agung). Inspired by the island’s holistic nature, wild ingredients and invigorating aromas, we created our first vegan formula, all against the backdrop of the 2017 volcanic eruption. We like to think there’s a bit of this natural fire in each of our balms. Today, our premium balms are sold across the world, from the USA to the UK, EU, Australia, and Canada – they’ve even ended up in the hands of Kylie Jenner – who we all know, loves a lip balm!
