Moreover, Bali Balm employs environmentally friendly and sustainable practices, so you can feel safe in the knowledge that with each application you 'kiss the planet'.  Yes. At Bali Balm, we are meticulous in selecting and sourcing our ingredients. We use only 100% natural products. While we make every effort to ensure that organic farming practices are maintained, we are aware of and transparent about the fact that sometimes this may not be possible. However, we strive to use only organic products whenever possible.

Is it correct that you use a chef to help develop your flavours?

Yes, each Bali Balm flavour was concocted by a professional chef. Chefs are renowned for their finely honed sense of smell and taste, so we approached a professional chef to help us create our flavour combos. That’s why you’ll find that each tube offers a sophisticated, yet playful mix of complementing aromas and tastes.

Are Bali Balm products vegan and cruelty-free?

Yes we are 100% beeswax free. No animal products or animal-derived products (such as beeswax, honey or lanolin) are used in Bali Balm products. Environmental issues are foremost on people’s minds, and by using ingredients not tested on animals or produced by animals, we can ensure that the production of our balm doesn’t negatively affect our fellow creatures, leaving Mother Nature to do things her way.

Is Bali Balm dermatologically tested?

Yes. All Bali Balm products have been tested by our team to ensure they meet the stringent standards set by certified dermatologists and pharmacists. The products have also been tested by a licensed quality control department, which found zero adverse effects from all cases during and after testing the product.

Does Bali Balm contain carcinogenic substances such as MOSH (mineral oil saturated hydrocarbons) or MOAH (mineral oil aromatic hydrocarbons)?

No. Bali Balm products contain no artificial colouring, fragrances, preservatives or mineral oils such as MOSH or MOAH. Moreover, our ingredients are minimally processed in a manner that does not fundamentally alter the product.

Does Bali Balm contain an SPF?

There are numerous online articles and studies detailing the sun protection factor of natural oils, specifically coconut oil, which is a key ingredient in our balms. We've created a product that moisturises, replenishes and nourishes your lips, but our goal wasn't for our balm to be counted on as protection against the harmful rays of the sun. Therefore, we do not market our product in the sun protection range. Instead, we leave the decision to our customers to decide on Mother Nature's ability to create a natural SPF

Where can I obtain a full list of product ingredients?

Each Bali Balm product is labelled with a detailed ingredient list. You can also find full ingredient lists on the individual product pages on the website.

Your product contains an ingredient called kukui nut oil, could you confirm what this is and whether somebody with a nut allergy will be affected?

Kukui nut is also known as candlenut or kemiri, and it comes from a flowering tree that was originally domesticated in Southeast Asia. Kukui nut oil is derived from the seed. This rich oil is incredibly beneficial for skin because it is high in fatty acids including omega-3, as well as vitamins A, C, and E. Studies show that kukui nut oil is extremely low in proteins that are responsible for nut allergies. That being said, anyone with nut allergies should consult a physician or conduct a patch test before using products that contain kukui nut oil.

What are Bali Balm’s commitments to sustainability?

We believe that beauty shouldn’t cost the Earth. This is why we source only 100% natural ingredients that are readily replenished and non-harmful to our ecosystems and the environment. By creating a beeswax-free lip balm we ensure that bees are left to do what they do best - pollinate the wonderfully varied vegetation that covers our planet. We also ensure our products are ethically sourced by establishing and maintaining transparent relationships with the people we work with and providing a living income for them and their families. We take pride in contributing to the local economy in Bali.

What is the shipping process for my order?

Our packages are dispatched via Royal Mail and should arrive at your door within two working days (Monday - Friday, excluding public holidays) of the date you placed your order. The packages are small enough to fit in a mailbox or through a mail slot, so there should be no need to queue at your local post office in the event that you are not home when your order arrives.

Is Bali Balm made in Bali?

Absolutely. Our production facility is located in the foothills of Bali’s sacred Mount Agung volcano. All of our formulas are prepped and produced at this site.

How do we work with you as part of your Kiss the Planet Pledge?

We are always looking for new innovative ideas to help enforce our Kiss the Planet Pledge. If you or your organization would like to work with us, please contact info@balibalm.com for more information.

You used to supply gift boxes with your balms. Why are these no longer available?

Based on customer feedback, we decided that despite how luxurious and beautifully created the gift boxes were, they were additional packaging that was not vital to the product or in line with our Kiss the Planet Pledge. Therefore, we decided to replace the gift boxes with a simple slimline carton made from recycled cards that are traceable back to the forest they originally came from.

The balm gets really hard in cold weather and won't come out of the tube. How do I fix this?

Like with any form of wax, our balms get softer with heat and harder in the cold. If your balm firms up in a cold environment, simply massage the tube between your fingers for 30 seconds and you'll feel the balm soften up. This should give the balm a smooth consistency and allow it to flow better from the nozzle.
